On the Israeli holiday of Shavuot (also called Pentecost, May 16-17 this year), Israelis will read the book of Ruth: “wherever you go, I will go; and where you lodge, I will lodge, your people shall be my people”.
It is a holiday of reconciliation between peoples, especially Arabs and Jews.
In this light, Israel Relief Aid is holding an aid event for Shavuot with mutual giving from Arabs to Jews in poverty in the north of Israel, Nof HaGalil (Nazareth area).
It’s a heart-warming event full of joy, both for the Arab Christian givers and the Jews living in poverty (some are Holocaust Survivors). For the Arab givers from Nazareth: “It is more blessed to give than to receive”.
